The Prisoner
1967-1968 | Sci-Fi | UK | Created by Patrick McGoohan
Overview
Number Six resigns, wakes in the Village, and resists interrogation by Rover, a roaring weather balloon. McGoohan, fresh from Danger Man, built a paranoid allegory of individuality versus the system. Only 17 episodes, and the finale enraged and fascinated Britain in equal measure. Be seeing you. The cult show by which cult shows are measured. College courses exist on it.
