Prime Suspect
1991-2006 | Crime | UK | Created by Lynda La Plante
Overview
DCI Jane Tennison, played by Helen Mirren, fought institutional sexism and killers across seven series. La Plante wrote research heavy procedure, including early mainstream treatment of DNA evidence. Mirren won Emmys and the show won Baftas. Tennison alcoholism and ambition without apology. The gold standard of the female led police drama. No noise, all nerve.
