Yes Minister
1980-1984 | Comedy | UK | Created by Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn
Overview
Jim Hacker MP met Sir Humphrey Appleby, permanent secretary, and the bureaucracy won, politely, forever. Jay and Lynn wrote from government experience: the art of the empty decision. Nigel Hawthorne delivered torrential obfuscation monologues. Margaret Thatcher was a famous fan, and MPs quoted it in the house. Yes Prime Minister continued the lesson. The funniest civics course ever aired.
