The World at War
1973-1974 | Documentary | UK | Created by Jeremy Isaacs
Overview
Twenty six hours of WWII history with Laurence Olivier narration and interviews from the people who were there, on all sides, filmed while memories remained. The Holocaust episode testimony set the standard for television history. Isaacs archival production became the benchmark method. Still the history documentary everything else measures against.
